If you love the letter “Z,” then you’re about to freak out over this news: Zac Efron and Zendaya are making a movie together about trapeze artists. Yes, you read that sentence (which has three “Zs” in it) correctly. Your two favorites are headed to the circus.
The film is called The Greatest Showman, and it will center on the life and career of Ringling Bros. maestro P.T. Barnum (played by Hugh Jackman). Efron plays a character named Phillip, while Zendaya portrays Anne Wheeler, a showgirl in the circus. Not much is known about Zendaya or Efron’s characters at this time; however, if these new teasers are any indication, they spend a lot of time twirling in the air.
Jackman, Efron, and Zendaya all shared mini-trailers of The Greatest Showman to their Twitter accounts on Tuesday (June 27)—and they all feature Phillip and Anne doing sky-high trapeze tricks à la Pink at every awards show in history.
In one of the teasers, Anne rocks a bright-pink wig and flips upside down, which both shocks and entices Phillip. In another, Phillip and Anne grab onto each other and shoot to the top of the tent together (literally). Check out the clips for yourself, below:
It’s clear from these brief snippets that Zendaya and Efron have mad chemistry together; we can’t wait to see more. Films and TV shows set in the 20th century circus era can sometimes fall flat (Water for Elephants was a dud, and American Horror Story: Freak Show was the worst installment of the franchise), but it looks like The Greatest Showman has a spark.

The Greatest Showman hits theaters December 25, 2017. Here’s hoping it features Efron walking a tight rope and singing “We’re All in This Together.”
